Emergency crews have activated EMS Plan 1 following reports of multiple gunshot victims near 76th and Halsted, close to the Chicago Police Department’s 6th District station.
EMS Plan 1 is activated by the Chicago Fire Department when an incident involves a significant number of casualties, allowing for additional ambulances and personnel to be dispatched to the scene to handle multiple patients simultaneously.
Details remain limited at this time. The number of victims, their conditions, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been confirmed by CPD or CFD. It’s also not yet clear whether any suspects are in custody or being sought.
