Chicago, IL — A 51-year-old man was left seriously wounded late last night after a domestic dispute inside a home turned violent, according to Chicago Police.
The shooting occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. in the area of 65th Street and Claremont Avenue on the city’s Southwest Side. Officers responded to a call of a person shot and arrived to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the right arm.
What Happened
According to police, the victim was inside his own home when he became involved in an argument with another man. During the confrontation, the offender allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.
Victim’s Condition
The 51-year-old was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
Investigation Status
As of this report, no suspects are in custody. Area One detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to identify and locate the offender.
